Meg & Ethan raise money for Myaware Donate Just before his 9th Birthday, Ethan began getting double vision and droopy eyelids. We got advised to get an emergency opticians appointment, they told us he was in control of his eyes and it would clear up in a few weeks but he was fine. That night things got worse and we went to A&E on holiday, they where dismissive as opticians had seen him and said he was fine. The next few days Ethan was struggling to walk, when he was tired he was struggling to smile, his laugh changed, he struggled to chew and on the odd occassion struggled to talk without slurring. We ended up back at A&E when Ethans legs where just giving way after a small walk, they where great but it was the weekend and other than bloods that where ok, nothing got done. The next time Ethan was really struggling we decided to take him to a hospital that specialised in neaurology and that was a game changer. The absolute difference in knowledge of the condition was crazy. We went from feeling like we was making it up to everyone saying we believe its MG. We spent 2 weeks in hospital, he had an EMG to confirm and is now on medicine 4 times a day which seems to be helping so much! Megan Falconbridge Manage Cookie Preferences
