How do I stay safe online? Expand Your safety comes first! Here are a few tips for a safe and positive Gameathon experience: Only share what you’re comfortable with. Avoid posting personal info like your home address, phone number, bank details or location. Use strong passwords and keep your streaming and fundraising accounts secure. Moderate your chats (if streaming) or ask a trusted friend to help manage comments. Take breaks, stay hydrated, and look after yourself — especially if you’re gaming for long periods. Your data and donations are handled securely through our official fundraising platform, which complies with all relevant data protection regulations. We will never share your personal information without your permission.
Are you fundraising on Facebook? Expand Right now, we’re focusing on donations through our official fundraising platform to ensure all funds come directly to the charity. If you’d like to share your Gameathon on Facebook or other socials, please link to your official fundraising page.

Do I have to livestream to take part? Expand Nope! Livestreaming is optional. If you'd rather play offline, host a game night at home, or just share updates on social media, that’s perfectly fine. The goal is to have fun and raise funds in whatever way works best for you
How long do I have to game/stream for? Expand That’s totally up to you. It could be a 1-hour quick play, a 6-hour stream, or even a 24-hour marathon (if you’re brave!). Pick a timeframe that’s fun but manageable — every minute you play helps raise awareness and funds.
Can I set up a team page? Expand Absolutely! Gaming is even better with friends. You can join forces with colleagues, friends, or family and fundraise together. Let us know and we’ll help you set up a team fundraising page so you can track your collective progress.

Concert Champions Expand Concert Champions: Time to flex those creative muscles! Gather musicians for a Battle Of The Bands. Have it over one night or even ramp up with heats and a final! Tie in with the theatre department for help with stage, sound and lights. Have a cover charge on the door and offer some light refreshments. Easy win!
Inventers Extraordinaire Expand Inventers Extraordinaire: Another competition idea without limits! Open submissions for a donation and ask the students to design a brand new invention. Set the rules such as Environmental Inventions, Little Life Hacks or everybody’s favourite – Useless Inventions! Draw up a shortlist and let the staff or students pick the best!
Short Story Stars or Poetry Pros Expand Short Story Stars or Poetry Pros: Tie in with the KS3 English strand on Poetry or Writing Skills and run a competition! Have the students enter their efforts for £1 and staff/students can vote on their favourites to pick the winner!
